The anticipation of a trip to Florida is what got us through the month of June. It was a much needed break for Mommy and even Daddy needed the break from his busy work hours. Expect the worst and you might be surprised...the perfect motto for our 8-hour car ride to FL. The babies (who unlike most babies, hate the car) slept the whole ride down there (and the way back). Driving through the night was the trick, I guess.
Mr. Tyler and Jason sure were spoiled little boys with tons of attention from their family. They were such good little babies, content being passed from one person to the next and they sure enjoyed napping in someone's arms. They got to go swimming every day, see Gramp 'E's chickens, had their first party (in their honor!) and meet all of their relatives on Mommy's side of the family. It was a busy vacation for them and they sure were wiped out - they took several 2-hour plus naps...ha, they never sleep that well!
Back home in Georgia now, Mommy has an extra set of hands for a month - woohoo! Cousin Brianna is here to help out and already such a huge help with the babies and around the house! She never changed a diaper before, but is a pro at it already - ha! Now with the second set of hands, we can go to the pool during the week and even trips out will be a bit easier. More help from Aunt Ashley and also Great-Grandparents will be here in another month. Mommy's spirits are renewed a bit, knowing that I don't have to handle life with twins alone for a little while now- whew!
As far as our daily activities now...the boys are eating cereal and seem to enjoy it. But they really enjoy the tastes of fruits and veggies they get on their lips. It will be fun feeding them foods with flavors! Jason is pretty much preferring a bottle now and we're trying not to lose hope that Tyler will soon take a bottle too. It will certainly free Mommy a bit and make it easier to go places. Naps are still a work in progress - hoping to get over the 40-minute hump and down to 2 naps a day. The fun parts of the day - play time - are spent going from station to station around the house. We practice rolling over (and scooting) during tummy time, stand up in our exersaucers (we must have grown because our whole foot touches the ground now!), and push buttons that make noises (Jason is still a little "Noisebot"). We learned to splash (must be all the practice from the pool) in the bath tub. Soon baths will be together once we're sitting up...then Mommy's really in for a wet time!
